Welcome to the first End Female Genital Mutilation E-Museum and thank you for choosing to visit, we hope to develop this into a physical museum where you can interact with cultural practices around female genital mutilation
Female Genutal Mutilation (FGM) is internationally recognised as a violation of human rights of girls and women. The practice which is deeply rooted in culture also violates - the right to health, security and physical integrity; the right to be free from torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment; the right to life, in instances where the procedure results in death of women and girls.
The End FGM E-Museum is intended to:
We intend not just to create awareness about the practice but to also to inspire action. We recognise the global efforts of activists, organisations, government agencies and survivors to put an end to the practice of FGM in our society. However, with more commitment and support from everyone, we can work towards a future where women and girls are free from this violation.
This E-museum has been carefully curated using a user-friendly interface and clear organisation of information to ensure you enjoy your experience while touring the e-museum whether you are using a tour guide or not.
We will like to hear from you about your experience visiting the e-museum and what you think about the practice of FGM. Kindly use the discussion forum to drop your comments.
Thank you for visiting.
